Nobody, especially in Rome, doubts anymore that in Savelli's veins runs the blood of a true painter. His chromatic world emerges with such immediacy and forcefulness to make us believe that Savelli "thinks in painting". And we praise him for this. We are not alone, since the young Calabrese artist is garnering warm praise from all sides.
Among the most gifted members of the so-called RomanSchool, Savelli has managed to break the final bonds of common syntax, running ahead and reaching positions of extreme avant-garde, especially for the "gothic" violence of his trait and the extraordinary force and liveliness of chromatic harmonies.
The works currently displayed in the exhibition are clearer and more joyful than previous ones, and in their cheerful tones they merrily announce the warm season. His trait, already daringly articulated and fluid, has become even faster and more diabolic, and the game of splashes and arabesques too has acquired new boldness.
Savelli's art is so extraordinarily prolific and rich with motives that we believe many more achievements will surely follow.
