The great artist's memory survives at the Palace of Boldeniga

"Bassa" – The big suitcase carried about by Savelli during a whole life of travels will not open anymore. The massive container that the great artist (who has died recently in Boldeniga) stuffed with the most outlandish artefacts, madly useless, following rational philosophies as silly as they are revered today, is closed forever.

But maybe the mystery hidden inside his "luggage" is only now ready to be grasped! As he used to do in his last years, Angelo Savelli had stopped to visit friends in the tower-castle of Boldeniga. Coming from New York, he was bound for Venice, where the Biennale was going to have a vast exhibition of his works. He fell ill around Easter. Then the "usual business" that follows people to their final resting place: the eternal one. The rush to the hospital, the worsening illness, and death, sudden like a thief.

In Boldeniga the great Maestro had his last worthy farewell. Under red bricks baked centuries ago, the triumph of whiteness: a white coffin (an unusual image around here), a veil, memories getting sharper. And that incredible smile on his face, alive yesterday, now eternal, as though to tell his friends that even death is weak when it follows a special life... Made of days, facts and things, yes, but filled truly by visions of art, pure and simple in their inner richness. Until the glorification of "White" as the only surviving colour.
